S Korean teenager Kim wins £10,000 first prize

South Korean teenager Min Kyu Kim won the £10,000 first prize in this week's EuroPro Tour event with rounds of 65, 67 and 73 for a total of 205 at the Caversham Heath venue.
There were two suspensions of play due to lightning being in the area but 16-year-old Kim's nerves stood up to the long day and he won by two strokes from Stiggy Hodgson (Wisley) (68-70-69 for 207) and by three from Jonathan Thomson (Rotherham.
Hodgson won £6,000 and Thomson £3,000.
A problem around Kim’s scorecard being signed incorrectly meant the South Korean was issued with a two-shot penalty, but he still edged the victory.
Kim climbs to 5th in the tour rankings, from which the top five as the end of the season earn promotion to the Challenge Tour.

Only two Scots made the second-round cut and Lawrence Allan finished T19 on 214 with rounds of 69, 72 and 73. The Alva man earned £495.
Craig Lawrie totalled 219 for a T47 finished with scores of 74, 70 and 75. He earned £307

Highlights from the Pentahotels Championship will air on Sky Sports Golf on Tuesday, August 29.
