LILY-MAY HUMPHREYS BEATS SAMMY FULLER TO REACH BRITISH GIRLS' SEMI-FINALS

Lily-May Humphreys, the 15-year-old English women's amateur champion, is through to the semi-finals of the British girls' championship at Enville Golf Club.

Humphreys (pictured), from Channels, Essex, won the quarter-final battle with the only other surviving English player, Samantha Fuller (Roehampton), by 6 and 5 this afternoon.
Lily-May will play Paula Kimer (Germany) in the first semi-final. Paula won by 7 and 5 in her quarter-final against Dutch player Mayka Hoogeboom.
The second semi-final will feature Emilie Overas (Norway) against Elena Moosman (Switzerland) who KO'd defending champion Emilie Paltrinieri (Italy) in the morning.

LAST TWO ENGLISH SURVIVORS IN BRITISH GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP MEET IN QUARTER-FINALS

There were only two English survivors from the third round this morning - Samantha Fuller (Roehampton) and Lily-May Humphreys (Stoke by Nayland) - and they meet in this afternoon's quarter-finals.
Fuller, conqueror of top seed Shannon McWilliam (Aboyne) in the second round, beat a Czech Republic player while Humphreys won by 2 and 1 against a Spanish opponent who had a two-hole lead at one stage of the match.
The defending champion, Emilie Paltrinieri (Italy) lost by one hole to Elena Moosman (Switzerland) but Italy is still well represented in the last eight.
Euphemie Rhodes (Burnham and Berrow) lost by one hole to Belgium's Clarisse Louis.
