Inverallochy's Murray beats Black in final of
NE District U18 boys' match-play
NE District committee member Angus Lee presents the Bill Brown Trophy to Brad Murray in the Newburgh clubhouse.
Brad Murray (Inverallochy) beat Cameron Black (Royal Aberdeen) 3 and 1 in the rescheduled final of the North-east U18 boys' match-play championship at Newburgh Golf Club this afternoon (WED).
Black, who recently won the boys' stroke-play title, won the first two holes from Murray who pegged him back to all square at the turn.
Murray then won the 10th (with a birdie), the 12th and 14th to go three up. Cameron fought back with a birdie at the 15th but Murray sealed victory with a further birdie at the 17th to win the Bill Brown Trophy.
