A magnificent course record-equalling 62, 8 under par, in the 2nd round of Sunday's championship at Kirkintilloch Golf Club, to go with an opening level par round of 70, saw Chris MacLean (Balmore) win by 7 seven shots from Balmore team mate James Wilson.

The top 16 qualifiers will contest the Match-play Championship at Hilton Park Golf Club in the week commencing 10th July. Unfortunately Chris is one of the players unavailable that week.

Balmore won the team competition for the Wylie Trophy and will represent the Area in the Scottish Championships later in the year.

The photograph shows Chris MacLean being presented with the trophy by DGU president Alan Bell.
