Arnott leads Senior Championship by four at
Haggs after a brilliant, bogey-free 65

Robert Arnott spreadeagled the field with a superb, bogey-free round of seven-under-par 65 at Haggs Castle Golf Club, Glasgow in the first round of the Grant's Foods Scottish PGA senior professional championship today.
The Bishopbriggs Golf Range pro, pictured, enjoyed a dream start of an eagle 3 at the first hole and followed that with five birdies - third, sixth, 15th, 17th and 18th in halves of 32 (four under par) and 33 (three under).
Arnott's recent form indicates today's score was no flash in the form and he will be hard to catch. Recently, he came within two shots of getting into a play-off at Kilmarnock (Barassie) for the last of four qualifying places in the upcoming Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.
Arnott leads the field of 26 by four shots from Peter Kerr (Hayston) at the halfway stage of the 36-hole tournament for which the minimum age was reduced from 50 to 48 years.
Kerr's halved of 35-34 included five birdies, including a 16th, 17th and 18th grandstand finish.
Fraser Mann (Carnoustie Golf Links), winner of the Silversea Senior PGA Championship for the second time in three years at Foxhills earlier this season, is in third place on his own with a two-under 70 (37-33. Mann too had a grandstand finish - a birdie at the 17th and an eagle 3 at the last.
Eagles were flying all over the place at Haggs Castle. Fourth-placed Duncan Williamson got a 2 at the par-4 12th in halves of 36 and 35 for a 71.
