Bon Accord overpowered Deeside to beat them by an overall nine holes and earn a quarter-final meeting with another Kings Links golf club, Northern,  in the 101st City of Aberdeen men's double foursomes for the Maitland Shield on a sunny evening at Portlethen Golf Club.
"We played well, holed a few good putts and we all walked in after 15 holes because we couldn't be beaten," said Neil Mitchell.
Mitchell and Matthew Greig were five up on the young Deeside pairing of Ben Henderson and Jamie Pryde, while Bon Accord's second string of Barrie Edmond and Chris Somers were four up on Jack Loggie and David Macklin with three to play.
Northern finished two holes up overall on Peterculter with the winning margin coming from the second string pairing of George Paterson and Cameron Johnstone who were two up on John Kennedy and Ross Jaffray.
Portlethen, who were beaten in last year's final by Murcar Links,
are on the march again, teeing off with a five-hole win over Nigg Bay.
Ryan Donaldson and Stephen Cook finished three Cup on Tyler Ogston and Lee O'Connor while Clark Brechin and Kevin Daglish were two up on Gordon Grimmer and Steve Jamieson.
And in the quarter-finals it will be a repeat of last year's final clash Portlethen versus Murcar Links.
So Wednesday night's quarter-finals are:
Caledonian (who received a bye into the last eight) v Newmachar.
Craibstone v Hazlehead.
Murcar Links v Portlethen
Northern v Bon Accord

The 101st Maitland Shield tournament is sponsored by Malones Irish Bar and Molly's Bistro at the Douglas Hotel, Market Street, Aberdeen.
