US college news round-up

Duncan McNeill 13 shots off the pace in NCAA Austin Regional

Duncan McNeill from Annan, a student at McNeese State University, had a first-round 79 to be T65 in a field of 75 players at the end of the first day of the NCAA Austin Regional at the University of Texas Golf Club, Austin.
Scottie Scheffler (Texas) leads by two strokes with a five-under-par 66.

Ryan Lumsden (Northwestern University), a student from London, is T11 with a par 72 in a field of 75 after the first day of the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional at the University Club, Baton Rouge in Louisiana.
Lumsden is seven shots behind the leader by two, Sam Burns (Louisiana State) who had a seven-under 65.
David Wicks (Jacksonville) from Bexhill, England shot a 74 for T22 position.
Elliott Fullalove (Jacksonville) from Kingswood had a 75 for T32 position.
Jamie Mist (Jacksonville State) is T55 after an opening 79. He's senior (fourth year) student from Hayling Island.


Missouri University Scots Rory Franssen from Inverness and Euan Walker from Ayrshire had scores of 73 and 74 for T24 and T34 first-day positions in the NCAA College Grove Regional at the Grove Club, College Grove, Tennessee.
There is a field of 75.
