Farrell helps Marquette win Big East


Championship, Chalk finishes 31st

Oliver Farrell, pictured right, from Worcestershire and a second-year student at Marquette University, Milwaukee in Wisconsin, finished T15 in a field of 45 players at the Big East Men's Championship at Callawassie Island, South Carolina this week.
In the same tournament, Alex Chalk, from Castle Douglas and a freshman at Seton Hall University, North Carolina, filled 31st place.
Farrell's scores of 76, 80 and 73 for a total of 229 (13 over par for the 6,983yd course) helped Marquette (899) to win the team title in a very tight finish with Seton Hall (900) with Georgetown (901) third and DePaul 908) fourth in a competitive field of nine teams.
Marquette also provided the individual winner, Matt Bachmann with scores of 73, 71 and 72 for level par 216.
Chalk, pictured left, had rounds of 81, 80 and 78 for 239.
Two Seton Hall students from the Philippines finished joint second on 218 - Lloyd Jefferson Go (76-70-72) and Gen Nagai (72-73-73).
