Read the Scottishgolfview.com  article on 2016 Scottish amateur champion George Duncan (Lincoln Memorial University) playing
at the Alabama NCAA Divisional 2 South/South East Regional.
Michael (pictured above) too was competing in the competition as Landers University qualified,
Michael played well. He shot 76, 70, 70 to finish tied 11th on level par 216 in a big field, being 15 shots behind the winner, John Van Der Laan (Florida State) who had three great rounds of 67, 69 and 65 for a 15-under total of 201
Rest of Lander University team played surprisingly poorly so they finished 15th, which was disappointing  as the team had climbed to number 7 ranked in Division 2.
There was a field of 108 of which 49 of them were ranked in the top 100 individuals in Division 2 so it was a good standard.
Hope this is of interest. Michael has just completed his second year at Lander University, South Carolina and is a member of Alyth Golf Club.
George Duncan belatedly found his form with a closing rounds of 69 after earlier scores of 83 and 78. But his total of 229 - 13 over par - saw him finish T78.
The leading Brit in the field was Carson-Newman freshman Tom Forster from Oundle, England with scores of 72, 69 an d73 for 214 and a joint eighth finish.
West Florida (843) won the team title ahead of Florida Southern (854) with Lynn (859) third in a field of 20 teams.
Carson-Newman (886) finished T9 and Lincoln Memorial (889) a disappointing 13th. Lander (893) came 15th.
