Scottish champion Duncan struggling in Alabama Division 2 Regional

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Last year's Scottish amateur champion George Duncan from Dunbartonshire, a third-year student at Lincoln Memorial University, Harrogate in Tennessee, is having an off-form spell just when his college needed a big contribution from him.

It's the NCAA Division 2 men's South/SE Regional tournament at the Robert Trent Jones course at The Shoals, Alabama and George has so far had rounds of 83 and 78 for 161 (17 over par for the 7,407yd course) and is T100 in a field of 108 players.
In his second round, Duncan, pictured, had a double bogey 6 at the first and dropped further shots at the ninth, 15th, 16th and 17th. His solitary birdie came at the par-5 seventh.
Duncan is 27 shots behind the leader by two, Chandler Blanchet (West Florida) (66-68 for 10-under 134).
Tom Foster (Carson-Newman) from Oundle, England, and Sam Broadhurst (Lincoln Memorial) from Nuneaton are doing a whole lot better than the Scot.
Foster has scored 72 and 69 for 141 and a T6 positon while the 6ft 3in Broadhurst is T121 on 143 with rounds of 71 and 72
