Brora Golf Club survived a tense final Sunday afternoon day of play in the Dornoch Firth League fixtures at Golspie to pip holders Royal Dornoch by half a point and win the League Targe for a 20th time and their first away success since Golspie was the venue in 2010.
Ex Golspie junior member Roddie Cameron was the player to take in Brora’s final point with a win over Invergordon’s Lee Simpson. Brora were involved in the three club team afternoon fixture and required 10 points from a possible 14 to catch Dornoch who were unbeaten over the weekend but dropped a precious 2½ points to Golspie in their last tie which helped Brora recover the Shield they have not won since 2014 on their home course. Brora’s final game results were Brora 6½ Invergordon ½; Brora 3½ Tain 3½
