After a short frost delay at Roganstown Golf and Country Club, the second round got underway at the Irish Girls’ Open Stroke Play Championship.
Overnight leaders Annabel Wilson (Lurgan) and Valerie Clancy (Killarney) teed off just after 11am in blistering sunshine. However, it was a struggle for both Irish girls in round two and after a birdie on the first, Clancy carded two double bogeys at the 8th and 16th and signed for a 6 over 77 to leave her tied for 4th position heading into the final round.
Wilson birdied the par 5 5th to move her to -3 for the tournament but double bogeys at the 7th and 9th meant she slipped down the leaderboard, finishing the day tied for 11th.

After an opening 73, Lea-Anne Bramwell (Wales) shot a 1 under 70 in round two. In a day that included 5 birdies she is now tied for the lead with 18 holes to play. Ingrid Lindblad (Sweden) added a 72 to her opening 71 and will be in the final group tomorrow alongside Bramwell and Jillian Farrell of Scotland.

Up and coming star Beth Coulter (Kirkistown Castle) finds herself just 4 shots off the lead after shooting 70 today. “I bogeyed my first two holes so that wasn’t a great start but I managed to get it back to 1 under after 11 and par my way in from there which was nice,” the thirteen year old explained.

The final round will begin at 8am tomorrow with the leaders teeing off at 10.40am.
