Buckpool Golf Club appoints Robbie

Stewart as its first ever club pro

NEWS RELEASE
Buckpool Golf Club, Buckie is delighted to announce the appointment of PGA Fellow Professional Robbie Stewart as its first ever Club Professional.

Robbie, pictured, joins Buckpool from Newmachar Golf Club and brings a wealth of golf industry experience,  having previously been Operations Director at Newmachar Golf Club, Director of Golf at The Paul Lawrie Golf Centre and Head Professional at Cruden Bay Golf Club for more than 20 years.

Lossiemouth born Robbie is excited to be returning to

Moray and to a Club he knows well.

"I have played at Buckpool many times over the

years and have always enjoyed the course and been

made very welcome by everyone at the club.

"When the opportunity arose to join Buckpool, I

had no hesitation in accepting and I look

forward to helping the Club continue to grow

and to providing opportunities for golfers of all

standards to fully enjoy the game."

In addition to his duties at Buckpool Robbie will also

be working for Scottish Golf Ltd as a Clubgolf Coach

Developer and Roving Pro covering Moray and

Aberdeenshire.

John Adam, the Buckpool Golf Club Secretary said

"We are absolutely delighted that Robbie is joining us

at Buckpool and are sure that the Club and its

members will benefit from his experience, not only in

coaching golf but in tournament organisation and golf

club management.

"He also has a great knowledge and

understanding of the golf tourism business and

this is something that Buckpool Golf Club and

the whole Moray area can hopefully benefit

from."

Buckpool Golf Club was founded in 1933 and the

course was designed by 5-time Open Champion J H

Taylor, one of the ‘Great Triumvirate’ which included

James Braid and Harry Vardon. The Club members

bought the course from the Council in 1999 and the

Club has since gone from strength to strength,

gaining a reputation for offering fantastic value and

consistently having some of the best greens in the

North East. The appointment of its first PGA Club

Professional is another important step in the growth

of Buckpool Golf Club.
