Clive Clark debut did not stop Scots'

9-6 Pollok win over England

Clive Clark, who would go on to Walker Cup and Ryder Cup team honours, made his youth international debut for England in the 1963 match  against Scotland at Pollok Golf Club but the Scots scored a 9-6 victory with the match the first to be reduced to five instead of six foursomes and 10 instead of 12 singles.
Fraser Urquhart from Inverness partnered A J Low (St Andrews University) to a one-hole foursomes win but Fraser lost his afternoon singles by 5 and 4 tie to J A Chaplain (Bulwell Forest Artisans).
The Scots gained their winning margin through taking the foursomes 4-1 before drawing the singles session 5-5.
