SCOT KARIS THROUGH TO LAST 16 OF AUSSIE GOLF

Scots-born Karis Davidson, 18, is through to the last 16 of the Australian women's amateur golf championship after coming back from one down on the 17th tee to win two holes in a row at Yarra Yarra Golf Club, Victoria.
Melrose-born Karis, the No 5 seed, is ranked No 103 among the world's female amateur golfers. She is No 4 among British-born women and is by far the highest world-ranked Scottish female amateur player.
The Davidson family emigrated to Queensland from Innerleithen in the River Tweed Valley when Karis was only nine years old.
