Hutcheon spearheads Scots' charge into share

Spearheaded by a six-under-par 66, the joint best score of the day, by Greig Hutcheon (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre, Inchmarlo), Scotland are sharing the lead with Germany, a shot ahead of England and Ireland, with one round to go in the PGAs of Europe international team championship over the Gloria Golf Club New Course at Antalya, Turkey.
Team-mate Greg McBain (Newmachar) was also in good form with a 68, giving the Scots a second-round team tally of 134, which enabled them to make up a five-stroke leeway on Germany.
The third man in the PGA in Scotland team, Graham Fox (Clydeway Golf) had a non-counting 77 but, with tongue in cheek, he says he is saving his best for the final round.
Scotland were runners-up in 2015 and won the title in 2014. Back in the days when John Chillas and Co were in the team, the Scots were regular winners of the PGAs of Europe championship.
Hutcheon is lying joint second in the individual standings on 205, two behind the German leader, Dennis Kupper.
