Oliver Farrell leads Brits at Price's Give Em 

Five Invitational

EL PASO, Texas – Paced by strong opening rounds from seniors Harry Wetton (Bedford, England/The Bedford School), Jaime Waltmire (Tucson, AZ/Canyon del Oro HS/Hawai'i Pacific/So. Mountain CC) and junior Ross White (Dollar, Scotland/Kinross HS), the Western New Mexico University men's golf team is tied for eighth with three others teams following the first round of the Price's Give 'Em Five Invitational that took place on the par 72, 7,307 yard Butterfield Trail Golf Course.
The Mustangs tallied a 300 and are tied with San Jose State, Army and Air Force. Host UTEP leads the 11-team field with a 276, four-strokes clear of New Mexico State. UTEP's Andreas Sorenson and University of Texas-San Antonio's Zander Lozano are on top of the individual leaderboard with six-under 66s.
Wetton compiled four birdies and added nine pars to finish with a one-over 73 and is tied for 29th. He caught fire on the back-nine with three birdies on holes 13 through 15. Waltmire and White were both just a shot back after firing 74s and are tied for 34th. Waltmire had three birdies, all on the front-nine and added an eagle on hole 15.



In terms of team stats, WNMU went 3.75 on par-three, 4.28 on par-four and were near the top in par-five (4.60). They came away with 39 pars, 18 birdies and one eagle. Wetton led the team in par-three scoring (3.00) and White led in birdies with six.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Oliver Farrell from Worcestershire, a second-year student at Marquette University, is in T10 position after an opening round of 70. Oliver Farrell is pictured at the top of this news item.
Also, Alex Chalk from Castle Douglas, a freshman at Seton Hall University, New Jersey, is T60 after a 79.
