Once again the weather gods were favourable as the players teed off on the last day of the highly successful Scottish Senior Golf Society's Spanish Festival, sponsored by McCrea Financial Services, at Hacienda del Alamo Golf Club, Murcia.

In a closely contested final day Dumfries and County pairing  Ian Brotherston and Ian Fraser came through to win the Doubles Scratch competition with a total of 141 by one stroke from Graham Haugh and David Marshall.

In the Nett competition Graham and David redeemed themselves by winning by one stroke on 135 from three other pairings - 

Alex Hogg (Stirling) and Denis McQuade (Glenbervie), George Barrie ( Callander) / Robert Gordon (Gleneagles),  and 

Alan Harrington ( Western Gailes) and Stephen Connolly (West Kilbride).
