John Duff chalks up another N E Alliance 

win with a 68 at Kemnay

John Duff left his EuroPro Tour form well behind him as he returned to his happy hunting ground - the North-east Golfers' Alliance, where he is a prolific winner.

At Kemnay today, Duff, pictured at a previous winning venue,  a professional attached to the club of which he was an amateur member, Newmachar Golf Club,  headed a field of 94 with a three-under-par 68 to win the top pro prize of £150 by two shots from Sean Lawrie (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre), nephew of Paul Lawrie, who earned the £120 runner-up prize.
David Law (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) and Ross Cameron (Saltire Energy) tied for third place with pars 71s, earning £80 each.
Duff was three over par with bogeys at the third, fifth and seventh - and then covered his last 11 holes in six under par with birdies at the eighth and ninth, an eagle 3 at the 11th and further birdies at the 15th and 18th for contrasting halves of 37 and 31.
"I really took advantage of the par 5s - having three good eagle chances, and then I finished the round by almost holing my tee shot at the last which set up a nice 2 at the 18th!" said John.
Sean Lawrie had an eagle 3 at the eighth and birdies at the first and 15th in halves of 35. Bogeys at the second, sixth and 17th prevented him from challenging Duff for first place.
