BOB STEWART LEADS SUPER SENIORS OPEN AT STRATHMORE

Bob Stewart (Tulliallan) is the leader after the first round of the Scottish Super Seniors Open (for players aged 65 and over), sponsored by McCrea Financial Services, at Strathmore with an excellent one under par score of 71.

Bob holds a three stroke lead over John Johnston (Royal Aberdeen) with Keith Bruce (Edzell) a shot further back on 75 along with Andrew Laird (Deeside), who leads the separate event for players over the age of 70.

The holder, Gordon MacDonald (Glenbervie) is on 77 along with Colin Halcrow (Windyhill), Derek Sim (Grange) and  Jim McArthur ( St Andrews New).  

Stewart is a former Scottish Senior champion and has won most of the Scottish Seniors Golfing Society titles. Eligible to compete for the first time in this event he has made a good start in his quest is to add the Super Seniors title to his extensive collection.

The CSS for the day was 73 for the par 72 course.
