Hutch wins Deer Park Masters by one 

as he drops down a gear

Greig Hutcheon virtually scored another victory in the Deer Park Masters with his first round of eight-under-par 64 on Tuesday. The Paul Lawrie Golf Centre Inchmarlo man's second-round 72, admittedly in more difficult conditions, was not out his top drawer and an eight-under-par aggregate of 136 just got him across the winning line at the Livingston venue by a one-stroke margin from Paul O'Hara (Clydeway Golf) who had scores of 66 and 71.
Daniel Wood (Hirsel) took third place with 70 and 69 for 139.
But a win is a win and first prize of £2,520 plus a bundle of Order of Merit points will ease Greig's disappointment at not continuing in the same vein of form as he tapped into on Monday.
O'Hara earned £1,739 and Wood £1,372.
The lowest round of the day came from Aberdonian Scott Henderson (Kings Links) with a 68 for 143 which saw him finish in joint eighth place and earn £490. Highlight of his card was an eagle 3 at the long second. He also had four birdies.
