James Byrne's tied eighth finish in Malaysia

Banchory's James Byrne finished tied eighth in the PGM Bukit Jawi Championship at Pulau Pinang - his best performance on the Asian Development Tour for some time.
Singapore-based Byrne had rounds of 73, 68, 70 and 68 for a nine-under-par final total of 279.
Malaysia’s Danny Chia (43) showed why he is still the country’s top golfer when he fired a flawless five-under-par 67 to  retain the title.

Chia’s winning total of 18-under-par 270 saw him sign off his campaign at the US$46,000 event with a comfortable five-shot victory over compatriots Gavin Green and Ben Leong
Green, who led the ADT event after the first two rounds, posted a 71 to share second place with Leong, who closed with a 69.
