Teenagers Marco Penge and Sophie Lamb

win Sunningdale Foursomes

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Two 17-year-olds, Scottish men's open amateur stroke play champion Marco Penge (Goodwood) and Lancashire's up and coming star Sophie Lamb (Clitheroe), this afternoon capped their week's outstandng run in the prestigious Sunningdale Foursomes by winning the title at the Ascot venue.

They beat  Lewis Atkinson (Gerrards Cross) and Scott Marshall (Lambourne) by 5 and 4 in the final after establishing a three-hole lead by the 12th.
Penge and Lamb's toughest match was in the first round when they squeezed through at the 20th hole.
They did not have to play the last two holes in all the ties that followed during the week.
Nerves were not a factor for a pair of youngsters who have already tasted far more success by the age of 18 than most players enjoy in a lifetime.
