Ross Cameron joint 2nd on good day for 

Scots in Morocco

Spearheaded by Ellon's Ross Cameron (Saltire Energy), the Scots had a good day in the first day of the Casa Green Open in Casablanca, Morocco.

All five scored par or under to be at the forefront of a field of 118 players.
Cameron, pictured,  was one of six competitors sharing second place on four-under 68, two behind the leader, Frenchman Stanislas Gautier who birdied six of the first seven holes in reducing the first nine to only 30 strokes.
Cameron, starting at the 10th, birdied the 11th, long 12th, 14th, long 17th, 18th and second before dropping shots at the third and sixth when he was on course to share the lead.
Former Scottish amateur champion Alexander Culverwell (Dunbane) had one of his best rounds since turning pro to be tied 12th on two-under 70. His inward half included birdies at the 13th, 14th, 16th and 18th.
Joint 12th on the 70 mark is Peterhead's Philip McLean (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) who birdied the eighth, 12th and 13th. 
Stablemate Sam Kiloh from Portlethen is tied 22nd after a 71 which included a double bogey 5 at the short fifth. He birdied the second, fifth, 10th and 18th.
Chris Robb (Meldrum House), another past Scottish amateur champion in the field, matched the par of 72 for a share of 33trd place. He had six birdies but also a double bogey 7 at the seventh and four bogeys.
