Michael Sim drops to share of sixth place in 

windy Vic Open

 Aberdeen-born Michael Sim slipped down from tied second to sharing sixth place after a second-round 71 in windy conditions for a six-under-par halfway total of 138 in the Victorian Open men's championship at the 13th Beach Resort links at  Barwon Heads.
Sim is three strokes behind the new leader, Australian Aron Price who had a 68 for 135 and leads by one from compatriot Stephen Dartnall (69-67).
First-day leader Scott Strange took 74 shots - 11 more than his course record-equalling first round - and is sharing third place on 137 with Adam Blyth (70-67) and Stephen Leaney (69-68)

The cut was even par 144 with 2014 Australian Masters champion Nick Cullen (+1), defending Oates Victorian Open champion Richard Green (+3), Peter O’Malley (+3), James Nittes (+3), David McKenzie (+3) and 2011 winner Paul Sheehan (+5) among the notables to miss being part of the weekend.
Irishman Cormac Sharvin missed the cut on his pro debut with rounds of 81 and 72.
