Paul Azinger to replace Greg Norman as lead
TV golf analyst for Fox Sports
Fox Sports has found its new lead golf analyst.
Paul Azinger – a 12-time US PGA Tour champion, 1993 US PGA Championship winner and 2008 winning U.S. Ryder Cup captain – will replace Greg Norman, sources have confirmed to Golfweek. The news was first reported by Golf Digest.
Azinger, 56, was rumoured to be the lead candidate to fill the void left by Norman, who mutually parted ways with Fox on January 15 after just one year.
Azinger worked as an analyst alongside Nick Faldo at ABC Sports from 2004 to 2006, and most recently was part of the ESPN broadcast team, covering the Masters, U.S. Open and Open.
In his first year on the new job, Azinger will work the U.S. Open, U.S. Women's Open and U.S. Senior Open alongside Joe Buck, according to the source.
