European senior men's amateur team championship in Bulgaria

SENIOR SCOTS THROUGH  TO MEET 

ENGLAND IN QUARTERS

Scotland will play England in the quarter-finals of the European senior men's amateur golf team championship at Pravets Golf Club, Bulgaria tomorrow (THURSDAY).
The Scots, spearheaded by Malcolm Reid with a 71, improved on their first qualifying round total by seven shots to make it through to the championship match-play flight of eight teams.
England qualified in third place behind Ireland - who provided the first three players in the individual table - with a total of 736. Scotland qualified in sixth place with a total of 745 so they will start underdogs against the English.
Ireland, leading qualifiers by an overwhelming 24 strokes, are the red hot favourites to win the title
