Clark wins North Seniors Open by four strokes

Ronnie Clark (Erskine), a winner three times on last year’s over-55s' circuit added the North Seniors Open to his growing collection of titles with a four-stroke victory at Elgin today.

Having missed the first event through injury, Ronnie was keen to get his season under way  and with his closest first round pursuers falling away, a second round 76 on the demanding Elgin course was good enough to take the title.

Senior international David Gardner (Broomieknowe) and Joe McManus (Uphall ) were joint second on 150 with Ian Angus (Duff House Royal) a shot further back.

Among the older brigade, the far travelled Ken Thomson (Bramhall Park) showed fine form to finish equal fifth with Stuart Drysdale

 (Turnhouse ) and Lindsay Blair (Grangemouth).

Last year’s winner, Barry Brooks (Meldrum House) made a creditable defence with a top ten finish.
