A GRAY DAY AT WEST KILBRIDE AS

STEPHEN WINS WITH A SIX-UNDER 65


Stephen Gray (Hayston) won today's (Tuesday) top pro prize with a six-under-par round of 65 in the Ayrshire Winter Golf Association competition at West Kilbride Golf Club.
Gray, pictured, by by a shot from joint runners-up Graham Fox (Clydeway Golf), the long-time clubhouse leader, and Campbell Elliott (Haggs Castle). 
The Hayston man opened with three birdies in a row and a fourth birdie at the seventh saw him turn in four-under 32.
Gray continued his fine form after the turn with birdies at the 10th, 11th and 16th - making seven in all. His only bogey came at the 17th.


Paul Moultrie, a +3 member of Royal Troon Golf Club, had a gross 66.
Best net score was a 66 off 10 of a handicap by host club member Colin McLatchie . That won him the Alan Mickel Trophy.
