KELLETT, BOOTH MAKE EXIT IN SPAIN

WHITEFORD, STEWART AND HENRY

SURVIVE Q SCHOOL ROUND 4 CUT

Peter Whiteford, Duncan Stewart and Scott Henry still have a slim chance of gaining one of the 25 European Tour cards for the 2015 season but Ross Kellett and Wallace Booth failed to survive the cut to the leading 70 and ties after 72 holes of the six-round Final Qualifying School at PGA Catalunya, Girona near Barcelona.
Somehow or other Whiteford (jt 49th on three-under 281), Stewart (jt 54th on two-under 282) and Henry (jt 67th on one-under 283) have to improve into the leading 25 and ties over the last two rounds at the Spanish venue.
Seven-under-par is the tied 25th place 72-hole total so the three Scots survivors are under severe pressure to make it to the Big League.
After two sub-70 scores, Whiteford went off the boil with a fourth-round 73. He needs to start cooking again.
Stewart responded to the pressure off being on the danger line after three rounds with a two-under 68 which included birdies at the seventh, ninth, 10th and 13th.
Henry kept his European Tour dreams alive with nothing to spare. He shot a one-over 73 to hit the limit mark of one-under-par 283.
After double bogeys at the short fifth and 10th, Henry looked down and out but he showed his class and grit by covering the last eight holes in four under par with an eagle at the 15th and birdies at the 13th and 18th.
Kellett, who had the been the Scottish front-runner, sadly slumped to a seven-over 79 for 286 - three shots too many. Bogeys at the 14th, 16th and 18th put him on the wrong side off the diving line.
Booth finished with a fighting four-under 66 but it was too little too late for the Comrie man. He had a total of 287.
