EDZELL ASSISTANT SCORES FIRST

MIDLAND ALLIANCE WIN OF SEASON

Edzell assistant professional Mike McKenzie scored his first Midland Golfers Alliance victory of the season with an excellent round of five-under-par 66 at Balbirnie Park Golf Club, Fife today

He won by one stroke from another assistant, Graeme Brown (Montrose Links) with Dunfermline-based pro Stephen Craig third on 68.

There was a three-way tie on net 65 for the leading handicap award between Jim Irwin (Muckhart) (8), Jim Meddick (Murrayshall) (12) and Douglas Fordyce (Dun Ochil) (14).
