JOOST LUITEN LEADS LYONESS OPEN BY TWO

FLYING DUTCHMAN HAS CHANCE TO

PUT NAME INTO TOUR HISTORY BOOKS

REPORT BY EUROPEAN TOUR COMMUNICATIONS
Defending champion Joost Luiten has set up a mouthwatering clash with local hero Bernd Wiesberger after the Dutchman shot a third round 66 to take a two-shot lead into the final day of the Lyoness Open in Austria
Victory for Luiten would create European Tour history, as no player has successfully defended the Lyoness Open title and no Dutchman has won the same tournament in successive seasons.
Luiten is firmly on course to write his name into the record books after seven birdies and a solitary bogey carried the three-time European Tour champion to 11 under par at a sun-kissed Diamond Country Club.
Wiesberger delighted the large galleries in Atzenbrugg with a birdie putt from 20 feet on the last hole to sign for a round of 66 and a nine under par aggregate total.
Paraguay’s Fabrizio Zanotti is in third place on seven under par after a level par round of 72, whilst England’s Adam Gee posted a 70 to climb to fourth place on six under par.
