ADAM DUNTON SCORES FOURTH 

NORTH-EAST ALLIANCE WINI

Scotland amateur international Adam Dunton (McDonald Ellon) scored his fourth and last win of the North-east Golfers' Alliance season with a four-under-par round of 68 at Newburgh-on-Ythan Golf Club today.

Dunton, who is contemplating making this his last year in the amateur ranks, highlighted his card with an eagle 3 at the ninth and had birdies at the third, seventh, 13th, 15th and 18th in halves of 33 (three under par) and 35 (one under).

He had bogeys at the fourth, 11th and 12th.

Dunton has withdrawn from the match-play foursomes which traditionally end the NE Alliance season at Murcar Links tomorrow  and Friday.

Newmachar's John Duff, another thinking over a move to the pro ranks, finished second with a 70 (36-34) in which he birdied the third, 13th and 17th with only one bogey, at the second.
 Duff also won four times on the 2013-2014 Alliance circuit.

Completing a good day for the amateurs were Nick Macandrew (Royal Aberdeen), Brian Nicholson and Niall Young (Insch) who made it a three-way tie for third place on 73.

The leading pros were the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre pair of Laura Murray and Greig Hutcheon on the 74 mark. Also on 74 was links specialist Stewart Finnie (Caledonian).
