KEVIN LOUGHREY WINS DRUMPELLIER CUP WITH COURSE RECORD 62
Kevin
Loughrie of Cambuslang won the Drumpellier Cup today with scores of 71 and 62.
Kevin came to the last hole knowing a birdie would beat Graham Rankin’s 19 year
old record and after a perfect four wood and wedge he lay four feet from the
hole. After a sharp intake of breath he knocked it straight in to claim the
record and the cup to a huge roar from the big crowd who had obviously heard
how he was doing and had gathered round the last green. Second was local player
Steven Rennie with 71,67 and third James Steven of Bothwell Castle with 73,66. Andy Fairbairn of Cawder had a hole in one at
the 14th with a seven iron.
