GARY TOUGH MAKES IT AFTER THIRTY YEARS



EDZELL'S Gary Tough today (Sunday) won the Angus men's stroke-play championship for the first time after 30 years' trying ... but it was a close run thing in the end at Arbroath Golf Club.
Gary had rounds of 70 and 66 for 136, the same total as a younger clubmate, William Bremner, junior whose rounds were 66 and 70.
Having the better inward half, won the title for Tough as the pair finished four strokes clear of the field.
Will Porter (Carnoustie) won the Angus youths championship - run in conjunction with the men's stroke-play - with rounds of 79 and 74 for 153.
