Defending champions Murcar Links have lost their grip on the City of Aberdeen men's double foursomes tournament for the Maitland Shield, sponsored by the Cults Hotel.
On a night of Baltic conditions at the Kings Links, Portlethen beat Murcar Links by an overall six-hole margin. Brechin and Kiloh, the Portlethen lead-off pair, finished two up on McKinnon and Styles.
Then Innes and Horne increased Murcar Links' winning margin by finishing four holes up on Stewart and Bews.
In Thursday evening's semi-finals, Portlethen will play Royal Aberdeen, beaten in last year's final.
The Balgownie men won their quarter-final comfortably against Stonehaven by a nine-hole margin.
Bon Accord beat Caledonian in the local derby match by four holes.
Edmond and Mitchell finished two up in the lead-off tie against Reid and Doig. Then Greig and Dunn did likewise against Pirie and Oliver.
Bon Accord had to wait to know the identity of their opponents in the second semi-final.
The Banchory v Deeside quarter-final went into "extra time" after Jarvie and Rennie for Deeside had finished one up on Adam Lindsay and Davie Brand, but Craig Lindsay and Jack Harling levelled it by finished one up on Craig Lawrie and Rose who three-putted the final green after young Harling, a New Zealander, had slotted a a 25ft putt for a par 3 after they had been in the bunker off the tee.
Down the 19th they went and Adam Lindsay and Brand won the first hole with a par to a bogey before the second pairs halved, which meant that Banchory had won through.
