CHEERS! TOMATIN SINGLE MALT TOJRNAMENT CONTINUES NEXT YEAR

The success of this week's inaugural Tomatin Single Malt 54-hole pro-am was such that already the event has been confirmed for a repeat at the Castle Stuart, Nairn and Royal Dornoch links from September 30 to October 2 next year
This was confirmed by Fraser Cromarty, the PGA professional who is Castle Stuart Golf Links' sales and marketing director.
Roy Murray, Scottish PGA tournament director, paid tribute to Cromary's behind-the-scenes role.
"The three-round pro-am with three fields rotating round three links venues, was Fraser Cromarty's idea and he came us with just about everything in place from the sponsorship to the locations," said Murray.
The prize money in excess of £46,000 puts it second on the Tartan Tour tournament prize fund table, second only to the Gleneagles Scottish PGA championship.
Stephen Gray (Hayston) won the £7,000 first prize and the amateur team winners were the Geason trio of Ian Kilpatrick (handicap 9), Ian Leadbetter (8) and Daniel Reilly (9).
Paul McKechnie (Braid Hills) was the team professional.
