KRIS NICOL WINS WITH 63 AT INCHMARLO

Fraserburgh's Kris Nicol spreadeagled the North-east Golfers Alliance field today  with an excellent round of seven-under-par 63 at Inchmarlo Golf Centre, Banchory. Nicol's bogey-free round was highlighted by an eagle at the 16th, backed up by birdies at the fifth and ninth in an outward 33 and also at the 11th, 13th and 17th in an inward 30 shots. Distant runner-up on 70 was Callum Trahan (Meldrum House) who would have finished three shots closer than he did but for a triple bogey 7 at fourth in halves of 38 and 2. Newmachar youngster Christopher Lamb was third with a 71 which included a hole in one at the 11th, an ace that earned him a £50 voucher bonus. Well played, Christopher!
