MURCAR SENIOR ALISTAIR FIDDES WINS AT MISTY MONTROSE

Murcar Links' Alistair Fiddes' four-stroke first-round lead stood him in good stead over the second and final round as he won the Scottish Seniors Golfing Socity's Spring Meeting competition at misty Montrose by one shot.
The haar delayed the start of  play by 50min but Fiddes, pictured by Cal Carson Golf Agency, still had some trouble finding the greens as he added a five-over-par 76 to his first-day 68 for a total of two-over-par 144 which equalled the CSS scores of 71 for the first round and 73 for the second..
Fiddes' eight-shot deterioration allowed the field to close up but none could make up Fiddes' halfway advantage. The closest anyone got was Fraser McCluskey (Royal Burgess) with 72-73 for 145.
Third place on 146 was claimed by David Miller (Kilmarnock Barassie) with a pair of 73s.
Scratch winner Alistair Fiddes also had the lowest net total. Playing off three, Alistair had net rounds of 65 and 73 for 138 - four shots ahead of Ian Kerr (Kilmacolm) (7) 74-68.
