ANOTHER GRAND PERFORMANCE BY PAUL McKECHNIE

Braid Hills' Paul McKechnie won his second Optical Express Pro Tour event and a cheque for £1,500 over the Westerwood Hotel course, Cumbernauld today (Wednesday). McKechnie, also the leading money winner on the Tartan Tor with five victories this season, added a more pedestrian one-over-par 72 to his brilliant first-day course record of nine-under-par 63 for a total of eight-under 134. McKechnie was not quite on song second time round, taking two-over-37 to reach the turn but he was more like his old self with a one-under 35 for the inward half. Ladybank's Alan Lockhart finished alone in second spot on 138 after round of 66 and 72, which earned him £900. Colville Park's Paul O'Hara, taking a break from the German EPD Tour, won £700 for third place with rounds of 71 and 68 for 139.. Top amateur was Balmore's Fraser McKenna, with two rounds of 72 for a 144 finish. He was placed joint 10th overall. "Leading lady" was Gemma Wester (Hilton) Park with 77 and 78 for 155, two shots ahead of Majorca-based Lauren Mackin (74-83). Both finished outside the prizemoney list.
