BOB STEWART WINS BY TWO SHOTS AT SOUTH SENIORS OPEN

Past Scottish seniors champion Bob Stewart (Tulliallan) is one of the most consistent of golfers in the over-55 ranks - and he has started the Scottish Seniors Golfing Society 2011 circuit with an impressive win in the South of Scotland Seniors Open at Powfoot.
With rounds of 74 and 71 for a total of 145, three over par but bang on the combined CSS (72 +73), Bob (pictured) had two shots to spare at the head of a field of "all the usual suspects."
His second round, which lifted him out of the pack, included one eagle, four birdies, eight pars, one double bogey and four bogeys!
His eagle was a 2 at the 313yd par-4 11th. He hit his tee shot through the gap at the front of the green to within 4ft of the flagstick and downed the putt for a 2. Birdies at the 17th and 18th secured his win.
Sharing second place were David Miller (Kilmarnock Barassie), Alan O'Neil (West Lothian) and Fraser McCluskey (Royal Burgess). One shot further back was Kinross's Derek Murphy whose second round 70 was best of the event.
The handicap medal was shared between Ken Forrest (Lenzie), Iain MacDonald (Bruntsfield) and Colin Campbell (Gullane)
