Jim Watt wins close finish at South of Scotland seniors

Edzell's Jim Watt won the South of Scotland seniors' two-round stroke-play competition at Dumfries and County Golf Club.
Jim had rounds of 70 and 69 for a total of 139 - the CSS was 69-70 - andhe won by one shot from three players: Stephen Ellis (Innellan), Phil Dempsey (Tulliallan) and home-course man Ian Brotherston.
Ellis, playing off 3, had the best net aggregate of 134, one shot ahead of two-handicap Watt and two better than third-placed Dempsey, who plays off two.
Tony Nicol (Elderslie) had a hole in one at "The Wee Yin," the par-3 14th, measuring only 90yd.
