Lucas is Great Dane in European amateur golf

Denmark's Lucas Bjerregaard, hardly one of the houshold names of Continental amateur golf, won the European men's individual amateur title in Finland today with an excellent aggregate of 15-under-par 273.
He had scores of 68, 71, 64 and 70 - that very low third round was decisive in the final analysis - to win by one shot from English champion Tommy Fleetwood and Italy's Andrea Pavan.
James Byrne from Banchory finished 11th on 281. Ross Kellett, last year's runner-up, tied for 28th place and Kris Nicol was placed 57th.
