Knox lying second with a round to go in

Hooters' Tour Dothan Classic

Florida-based Scot Russell Knox put himself in line for a big cheque with a third-round of seven under par 65 in the Hooters Tour's Dothan Classic at Highland Oaks, Dothan in Alabama.
Knox had an eagle at the 16th and birdies at the first, second, fourth, ninth, 14th and 18th in halves of 33 and 32. He had one bogey, at the eighth.
The Inverness-born player, who stayed on in the United States after four successful years on the US college golf circuit as a student at Jacksonville University, Florida, is lying in second place with 18 holes to go.
Knox has scored 69, 71 and 65 for 11-under-par 205.
He is three shots behind leader Jim Renner who has shot 66, 70 and 66 for 14-under-par 202.
Knox could also come under pressure from behind as third-placed Will Wilcox is only one shot behind him after a 69 for 206 and fourth-placed Michael Lavery is on 207 after a third-round 72.
