Knox and Kirkpatrick advance to Stage
2 of PGA Tour Qualifying School

Scots Russell Knox and David Kirkpatrick have advanced to the Stage 2 stage of the long and winding PGA Tour Qualifying School trail.
But compatriots Joel Hendry and Paul Cormack failed to make the top 23 and ties at their venues.
Kirkpatrick shot rounds of 73, 74, 75 and 74 for a total of 296, eight over par at the 7384yd Crandon Park course, Key Biscayne, Florida. That gained him joint 23rd place so he made it to Stage 2 with nothing to space.
At the same venue twice former Scottish youths champion Joel Hendry from Elgin, but a long-time resident of the United States, failed with scores of 82, 72, 76 and 76 for 18-over-par 306, one shot better than Irishman Sean McTernan who had rouns of 75, 74, 78 and 80.
At St John's Golf & Country Club, St Augustine in Florida, Russell Knox, third top money-winner on the 2008 Hooters Tour, continued his consistent scoring with rounds of 69, 71, 68 and 69 for 12-under-par 276. He qualified in joint second place. The 23 and ties who made it at this venue had 72-hole totals of 285 or better.
Paul Cormack failed on nine-over 297 with scores of 72, 74, 73 and 78.
