SuperMac shares lead

after brilliant 64

Scottish amateur champion Callum Macaulay from Tulliallan and England's Adam Frayne leapfrogged the overnight leaders with brilliant rounds of 64 and 65 respectively in the second round of the European Tour First Qualifying Stage Section B eliminator at The Oxfordshire Golf Club today (Wednesday).
Macaulay, who improved by five shots on his opening effort of 69, and Frayne, who had begun with a 68, now share the top spot on 11 under par 133 with two rounds to go.
Only the leading 30 players and ties after 72 holes at the south of England venue will go forwad to Stage 2, spread over four Spanish venues from November 5 to 8.
After that it's the Final Qualifying School of six rounds at the PGA Golf de Catalunya from November 13 to 18.
Elliot Saltman (Craigielaw), who has had a pair of 67s to his credit for 134 and is tucked in behind the leaders in third place on 134, and Glasgow's globe-trotting Scott Jamieson, sharing fourth place on 135 with Open amateur hero Chris Wood, give Scotland three players in the top five, which can't be bad.
Scottish amateur stroke play champion Wallace Booth (Comrie) is well within the leading 30 zone after scores of 678 and 71 for 139.
Tartan Tour kingpin Chris Doak and PGA EuroproTour campaigner Paul Doherty are two more Scots on 140. Doak has had a pair of 70s, Doherty a 71 and a 69.
On the top 30 borderline of 141 at the moment is Murrayshall's amateur cap Gavid Dear with 70 and 71.
Former European Rookie of the Year Scott Henderson has it all to do over the last two rounds to climb back into the leading 30 after a second-round 76 - eight shots worse than his first-day score - knocked him down to 144.
Former Northern Open champion Jason McCreadie (Buchanan Castle) and Carnoustie amateur international Keir McNicoll are back on 146, one shot ahead of Murray Urquhart (Inverness).
