McAllister, McGowan
share halfway lead in
North of Scotland
open at Nairn

The stage is set for a exciting final 36 holes in the North of Scotland men's open amateur stroke-play championship for the David Blair Trophy at Nairn Golf Club.
After the first two rounds today, a spread of only two shots covers the leading five players.
Liam McGowan (St Andrews New) and former Scottish boys' open stroke-play title-winner Shaun McAllister (Craigielaw), pictured right by Cal Carson Golf Agency, are sharing the pole position on four-under-par 140. They are one shot ahead of Scottish cap and beaten quarter-finalist in this year's "Scottish" at Carnoustie, Paul Betty (Hayston).
Sharing fourth place on 142 are Lindsay Miller (Cawder) and local hope Neil Hampton who has turned the clock a few years back to when he was a leading force in North District golf.
And there are four players on level par 144, all capable of making up four shots over 36 holes.
