LEAD AT NAIRN

Hayston's Paul Betty, pictured right by Cal Carson Golf Agency, and Scott Stewart-Cation (Balbirnie Park), both beaten quarter-finalists in the Scottish men's amateur golf championship at Carnoustie a few weeks ago, shared the first-round lead on five-under-par 67 in the North of Scotland open amateur championship for the David Blair Trophy over the Nairn links today.

They were two shots ahead of former international Bryan Fotheringham (Forres), a past winner of this 72-hole championship which is an Scottish Golf Union Order of Merit event.
