Chris Doak scores sixth win of
season in Bonnyton pro-am
Tartan Tour money leader Chris Doak topped £21,000 in winnings this season with his sixth victory in 18 competitions this season at the Professionals pro-am at Bonnyton Golf Club, Eaglesham near Glasgow today
Doak, a winner already at Craigielaw, Kilmarnock Barassie, Spey Valley, West Lothian and Wishaw, shot a four-under-par 68 with halves of 32 (four under par) and level par-36.
He had an eagle at the fifth and birdies at the third and sixth in a flawless outward half but lost a wee bit of his sparkle after the turn - one birdie at the 11th and one bogey at the long 16th.
Doak earned £1,148 for win No 6 of 2008. He finished a shot ahead of Gary McFarlane (Clober) and Colin Gillies (unattached).
Gillies piloted the Bank of Scotland amateur trio of Ronnie Carswell (handicap 17), Gerard Smith (5) and Jim Rooney (11) to victory in the team event with the outstanding net score equivalent to a birdie at each hole - 18-under-par 126.
