MUSSELBURGH WIN EAST LOTHIAN COUNTY CUP

Musselburgh beat Dirleton Castle by four holes in the East Lothian County Cup men's double foursomes golf tournament at Dunbar.
The winning Musselburgh team consisted of the following partnerships - Fraser Syme and Stuart Menzies, Kenny Wright and Myles Clapperton.
The losing Dirleton Castle pairs were G Patterson and D Melville, S Lindsay and M Saunders.
Syume and Wright finished five holes up on Patterson and Melville in the first-string game while Dirleton Castle's second string of Lindsay and Saunders won by one hole against Clapperton and Menzies.
In the morninig semi-finals, Dirleton Castle beat North Berwick at the 19th while Musselburgh comfortably beat Whitekirk.
Kilspindie Golf Club, as guardians of the East Lothian County Cup competition - the oldest foursomes trophy in the golfing world, dating back to 1868, traditionally run the tournament..
